| Our club has started it's spring season with our first car show at Food & Fun Deli-Pizza Center in W. Babylon. A low attendance at this show was due to the weather. The judging results are as follows: Food & Fun CHOICE AWARD, New club member Bob Brennan's 1963 Sedan Deville, FIRST PLACE WINNERS, John Ledwith's 1939 LaSalle, Bob Fuller's 1968 Deville & Steve Ziselman's 1978 Eldorado Biarritz Coupe - SECOND PLACE WINNERS, Ted Bank's 1985 Fleetwood Coupe, Joe Marasciullo's 1985 Eldorado Biarritz Conv; & Matt D'Agostino's 1989 Allante - THIRD PLACE WINNERS, Jerry & Rita Trapani's 1984 Sedan Deville, Bill Estes's 1990 Brougham & Tom Mascia's 1973 Sedan Deville. Congratulations to all winners and thank you to all that attended. A special thank you to Judine, owner of Food & Fun for hosting this show. Due to the possibility of rain on Sunday, May 4th, The Spring Dust Off Car Show in Merrick, sponsored by the Oldsmoblie Car Club was cancelled. The show was re-scheduled to take place on it's rain date, Sunday, May 18th. Our club pre-registered over 20 of our cars to attend. The pre-registration will be honored on May 18th. If other club members plan to attend this show and park with us as a club, our club we will reimburse you the pre-registration fee from the day of show fee. On Monday, May 26th, our club will again participate in the Annual Levittown Memorial Day Parade. Our club is based out of Levittown and we support the community by participating in this parade every year. Over 15 - club cars participated in the parade last year. I was able to obtain a two day photo shoot for Ed Torres's 1963 Eldorado Conv. The shoot took place at a Manhattan Studio on April 29th and April 30th. This shoot was for a magazine advertisement for Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles children clothing line. On behalf of the club, I thank Ed for the generous donation that he made to the club from the shoot proceeds. Production companies requiring Cadillacs for commercial use do view our club's web-site and have used some of our members cars in the past. If your car's photo is not posted on our site, your car can not be considered for use by production companies. Our Secretary Of Membership, Steve Krieger has informed me that there are still some club members that have not paid their 2008 Club membership dues. Final renewal notices were mailed to those members. As of may 31st, unpaid membership dues will result in the suspension of the delivery of Our Monthly Newsletter, "The Insider" and removal from our mailing lists. We do value all our club members, so please be sure your dues are paid. If you plan on attending the 2008 CLC Grand Nationals in Cherry Hill, New Jersey in August, you must register and also make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. The host hotel is already full and a second hotel is taking reservations. See your CLC Self Starter for Grand National information or click above to go to the official GN home page. | In the May, 2008 issue of The Self-Starter, CLC members will receive a ballot to vote for the club’s next Board of Directors. Please take the time to review the nominees which includes our very own Andrew(Andy) Zizolfo. Andy is presently serving as the CLC Northeastern V.P. and as V.P. of our region. Let's get the vote out and show our support for one of own! |
